Paul saw the world through an artist's eyes. Whether a garage door in St. Paul, a lawn chair in Arizona, Chicago's distinctive architecture, or the spectacular New Zealand Alps, Paul's vision was unique.

Paul McCarthy's artistic periods include a series of urban landscapes, river- and lake-related architecture, Lake Superior ice formations, pastoral scenes, signs, reflections and Western U.S. natural monuments. Particularly impressive are paintings resulting from Paul's 1,500-mile solo bicycle trip around Lake Michigan.

Although many paintings appear to be abstractions, they are almost always literal depictions of scenes as seen through his eyes.

Representative paintings from these periods are available for purchase.
